Cirencester’s first children’s literary festival – August 12th – 17th

Perfect for the school summer holidays, comes Cirencester’s first children’s literary festival – a week of readings, activities and book signings to entertain even the most reluctant reader!

Jointly organised by Octavia’s Bookshop, Gloucestershire Library Service and the Bingham Library Trust the fun kicks off on Monday 12th August with the brilliant Alex T Smith, author of the bestselling Claude series.

Local favourites joining the week-long event include Hannah Shaw, Sarah Garland, John Dougherty and Christopher Edge.

Wendy Meddour and her super talented daughter, recently featured on BBC Radio 4 Woman’s Hour, will also be appearing.

Best selling authors Kate Maryon and Frances Hardinge will be visiting and writer of the brilliant Young Sherlock Holmes series, Andrew Lane, will be signing his new book.

There will be something to suit every age group with activities taking place at both Octavia’s Bookshop and Cirencester Bingham Library.

So get the dates in your diary now: 12th – 17th August and more authors will be announced soon.
